Learn how to decoupage with no wrinkles.

Decoupage sure is a fancy word for the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it. However, wrinkles in your paper can be a big issue while decoupaging. So I am here to show you how to do it the only way I can, by making it easy and simple, with a laugh and a story.

But first I have a few questions for you:

Do you want it long or short?

Every step or just the facts Ma'am!

Funny or Funnier??

These are the only questions you need to ask yourself when you are choosing how you want Tanglewood Sue to teach you today.

Learning how to decoupage without wrinkles is an awesome mad skill to have. It can open so many doors to creative bliss. Well, you can learn how it's done in two ways, a short and a long way,  so you can choose what works best for you AND you can yell at me twice.

The short way is to watch my FREE youtube version. It's fun and snappy, under 10 minutes and if you are lucky I'll throw in a story or two. Pure entertainment if you are into that sort of thing.

In synopsis, you will need:

Tissue paper in different patterns.

Mod Podge

Spray Lacquer

Parchment paper

An iron, an inexpensive paintbrush, and a paper plate.

Do not despair if you do not know where to buy these materials. I do not only tell you the HOW but also the WHERE. Follow this link and you will find everything you need to decoupage with no wrinkles like a pro.

The first step to start your project is to pour some Mod Podge into your paper plate and use the paintbrush to apply it to your piece. Make sure you cover the entire surface, do not miss any spots. Repeat this step two more times. You are probably yelling at me, "But Sue!! Does it really need three coats?" Yeap, it does. Trust me, you can thank me later.

       How to decoupage

While the Mod Podge is drying, grab your selection of tissue paper, get the backings off and practice your design. Play with the pieces of paper until you find one that makes your heart happy. There are no right or wrong answers, just unleash your creativity.

When you have your design ready, arrange it on your project and put a piece of parchment paper on top. Then push out with a hot iron. The heat will reactivate the Mod Podge and the tissue will adhere to your piece.

Finally, spray the lacquer to seal your design. Simple, right?! Well, if this was too fast-paced for you, here comes the long version to the rescue!

The long way is a video that goes deeper, goes slower, shows you each step instead of a RomCom music montage. It's for my peeps who want more instruction than my FREE youtube version may offer.
