Those of you who have been with us since we opened our little booth inside of Community Forklift over 3 years ago (We were Shabadaba Chic back then) know that we seem to expand every 6 months or so. Yes, that sometimes also refers to me AND my shop unfortunately, but I digress….
We moved out of our little booth into room one of our current shop on the corner of Community Forklift at 4641 Tanglewood Drive. Once we saw how well our fans were responding to our salvaged vision we opened up another room, and then yes, we gave up our storeroom and moved production down the road so we could dedicate our entire footprint to upcycled art and furniture.Thank goodness for momma’s little helpers.
Last Winter rather than expand, we encased the walls in salvaged lumber and doors so that we could cover every square inch we could with locally created art and design. Pretty cool huh?
So what are we to do now? We have no more rooms left to open and yet demand for locally sourced, artisan made, handcrafted furniture is still rising. Well we are rising to meet the challenge by opening our first Pop-Up shop in the heart of the Gateway Arts District in Hyattsville, MD. we are calling it “Tanglewood Works for Hyattsville”.
Team Tanglewood is busier than Santa’s elves this year getting all the finishing touches ready for our opening in Late October. We will be busting at the seams with holiday gifts, hand painted furniture, artistic lighting, handmade jewelry, upcycled textiles and yummy candles and skin care products all made by your neighbors and friends.
We will be posting regular updates on our soft opening, our grand opening and all kinds of events that we will be hosting at “Tanglewood Works for Hyattsville”. Please follow along with us and join in our upcycling and art adventures this Holiday season. Look for the hashtag #tanglewoodworks4HVL and see what we have in store for you.
